Go nuts for donuts, presented by Flonuts

If marrying food was legally viable, I would marry a donut. I mean, look at them. They are freaking gorgeous. They never get old. They are creamy and sweet. Just like people, they can be any color and still be perfect and beautiful. Every now and then I contemplate on filling up my bath tub with donuts to create some sort of float like, exfoliating, contraption. Unfortunately, I always get too lazy.

The good news is that I am not feeling too lazy right now to rattle off some of the best donuts shop across the country. If you live within 100 miles (realistically 250 miles) of any of these shops, it is probably worth getting in the car right now… I’m dead @$$ serious. LOOK AT THIS ISHHH!

Inflatable donuts

The Donut BarSan Diego, California

Why? They are open from 7am until they run out of donuts. They also have really cool shirts.

Our favorites? The Cake Batter Donut and Maple Bacon Donut

Glazed and Confuzed – Denver, CO

Fresh, local, and organic. You would think I’m talking about a Whole Foods, not a BOMB donut shop. Anything with coconut on it is THE TICKET.

Hypnotic Donuts – Tennessee

They are the original creators of a concoction of a yeast raised donut with peanut butter, bacon, banana and honey.  Enough said.

Leonard’s Bakery – Honolulu, Hawaii

If you haven’t heard of a malmasada, a malasada is a portugese doughnut without a hole. What does that look like you might ask. Well they are large balls of dough fried until they are golden brown on the outside and light & fluffy on the inside. Sprinkled with sugar, powdered sugar, and other fine ingredients, these just may be the food I want on my death bed.
